By operating from District offices that are connected yet distributed, we draw from a tremendous database of strategies and ideas to meet and beat deadlines. Our personnel function as a team throughout our Districts, often moving to various regions to provide support management during critical phases.
Rocky Mountain District
Started in 1991, SEMA’s Rocky Mountain District is one of the region’s largest heavy highway contractors. For the past several years, this district has been ranked by Engineering News Record as one Colorado’s largest highway contractors.
We have worked for numerous public and private owners in this region, including the Colorado Department of Transportation, the Kansas Department of Transportation, Union Pacific Railroad, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, and Xcel Energy.

California District
Opened in 2001 to meet highway construction demand in Orange County, our California District is one of Southern California’s largest heavy highway contractors. We have worked for numerous owners throughout southern California, including Riverside County, Orange County, Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the City of Los Angeles, and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. Private owners with whom we’ve worked include Vestar/Kimco Tustin LP and Pulte Homes.
Southeast District
Located in Orlando, our Southeast District is one of region’s largest heavy highway contractors. It opened in 2008 after we secured our first Florida Department of Transportation project on I-4 in Volusia County.
Since then, we have successfully bid on many projects for the Department of Transportation, Florida Turnpike Authority, Orange County, Polk County and the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority.

Texas District
SEMA’s newest district opened its doors in 2009. It has since made its mark in the Texas transportation industry by working with owners such as the Texas Department of Transportation and the North Texas Tollway Authority. SEMA has also been selected by Burlington Northern Santa Fe to participate in procurement opportunities for projects in Texas.
