Excavation of the new mainline around abandoned and active Signal Cables part of a Larger 9 mile mainline expansion along the BNSF Transcon one of the most important economic lines in North America.
Selling Points
This project was a critical expansion project on BNSF’s Trans Con, which is the most heavily utilized freight line in North America. This line is used to transport more than 50% of all American freight between LA and Chicago.
Major Achievements
This project consisted of establishment of 9 Miles of New Mainline construction needed to double Track BNSF’s Transcon reducing wait time of opposing train traffic. Project consisted of 1 Million CY of earthwork, Construction of 1 New Bridge, installation of 8 New Box Culverts and Arches.
Savings
SEMA worked with the owner to come up with savings on the project that amounted to around $150,000.
