We are proud to announce that SEMA has been selected by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) as the Progressive Design-Builder for the US 19W N Emergency Highway Reconstruction Project in Yancey County, North Carolina.

This $580 million effort marks a series of milestones for SEMA:

  • A Progressive Design-Build project, representing another significant project under our alternative delivery umbrella of experience
  • Our role as managing partner in a major joint-venture team
  • And most importantly, a chance to help rebuild vital infrastructure for a community still recovering from the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene in 2024

A Project Reflects Our Expertise

SEMA’s team rose to the top of a highly competitive field, outperforming proposals from some of the other largest infrastructure firms in the country. This selection underscores the value we bring to our clients — expertise, commitment, and a deep understanding of the communities we serve.

We are honored by the trust NCDOT has placed in us and look forward to delivering an exceptional outcome for the people of North Carolina.
