The US 98 Bridge Replacement over Peace River is a testament to our commitment to sustainability, balancing environmental stewardship, social responsibility and economic growth. This project will ultimately provide the City of Fort Meade the additional roadway capacity needed, thus leading to economic growth within the community. Our construction approach on this project will leave the City of Fort Meade a better place than when we arrived.
Selling Points
With the bridge being constructed over a highly environmentally sensitive area, SEMA’s Southeast District chose a top-down construction method, taking special care to avoid any contamination in the sensitive water way.
Major Achievements
We utilized pre-cast pier caps on this project, not only to fast-track construction, saving several months in schedule, but this also further reduced the risk.
Savings
Cost savings have not yet been realized as the project is not yet complete, we did elect to invoke the FDOT voluntary acceleration specification and cut 4 months from the project schedule.
