Details

SEMA Construction collaborated with the TXDOT to execute the SH 199 Improvements Project in Lake Worth, Texas. This critical project was designed to enhance a vital transportation corridor by addressing congestion issues, improving safety, and modernizing infrastructure to support future growth.

Key components of the project included the construction of two new main lane bridge over Lake Worth, over 2200 linear feet, a significant upgrade that ensures continuous connectivity for both local and regional traffic. The existing bridge will be repurposed as a frontage road, improving access for local communities and reducing dependency on main lanes for short travel. The project also widens SH 199 main lanes from four to six lanes, creating additional capacity to meet the demands of an expanding population and increasing traffic volumes.

One of the most significant milestones of the SH 199 project was the successful completion of marine work, a first for SEMA Construction. This involved intricate engineering and careful planning to deliver the bridge structure over Lake Worth without disrupting the aquatic ecosystem. By leveraging advanced construction techniques, SEMA ensured the project adhered to environmental standards while maintaining efficiency and quality.

Throughout the project, SEMA employed careful project management to coordinate multiple construction phases, minimizing disruption to the surrounding community. This included effective communication with stakeholders and strategic scheduling to avoid significant traffic delays. By the project’s conclusion, SH 199 will be a safer, more efficient, and future-ready corridor, capable of supporting economic development and the quality of life for residents and commuters.
