SEMA Construction proudly celebrates being awarded the largest project in its history with TXDOT’s IH-35E/W Split project in Denton, Texas, solidifying its reputation for handling large-scale, complex transportation initiatives. Set to commence in January 2025, this transformative $584 million project will span 4.8 miles of roadway and take nearly five years to complete.
The scope includes widening the freeway and interchange, reconstructing and expanding a 4- to 6-lane rural freeway with ramp modifications, creating continuous 4-lane frontage roads, and transforming the interchange to include 4 to 8 continuous frontage lanes. SEMA will deliver an impressive 27 bridges totaling 734,549 square feet, 59 walls covering 527,964 square feet, and extensive earthwork involving over 1 million cubic yards each of roadway excavation and embankments. Additionally, the project features 97,860 linear feet of storm drain culverts, 753 storm drain structures, and 723,970 square yards of 11” and 13” reinforced concrete paving.
