Details

SEMA Construction is proud to partner with TXDOT to deliver the I-35E and FM 1171/Main Street Interchange Enhancement Project in Lewisville, Texas. This vital initiative highlights SEMA’s capability to execute large-scale infrastructure upgrades that address mobility, safety, and connectivity needs in one of the state’s most rapidly growing regions.

The project involves the complete reconstruction of the Main Street bridge over I-35E, a critical element in modernizing the corridor to accommodate increased traffic flow and enhance structural integrity. Additionally, approximately 1.3 miles of I-35E main lanes are being expanded to improve traffic management and reduce congestion. The construction of a new northbound frontage road from Fox Avenue to College Street further enhances local access, alleviates bottlenecks, and provides an alternative route for local commuters.

SEMA’s extensive experience in heavy civil projects ensures precise execution and strategic planning to minimize disruptions to the surrounding community. A major milestone was reached in September 2024 with the demolition of a portion of the Main Street bridge, setting the stage for a modernized structure capable of meeting future demands. Initiated in 2023, the project is on track for completion in fall 2026, displaying SEMA’s commitment to delivering on schedule and within budget.

Supported by the Denton County Connections and Texas Clear Lanes programs, the project addresses long standing traffic congestion and supports the region’s economic development. Upon completion, it will improve daily commutes, expand safety, and provide critical infrastructure for one of Texas’s most dynamic areas.
