SR 408 & SR 417 Interchange Design

The 417/408 Interchange was another award winning interchange project delivered by SEMA for the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX). Our long-lasting relationship with CFX is a testament to our relentless pursuit of being the best partner in the industry. This project was destined to be constructed by SEMA from it’s inception. This project was constructed through a different type of alternative delivery, “Hybrid Design-Build”, which means the roadway portions and line/grade were designed by the projects EOR, while SEMA was entrusted to provide final design of the MOT phasing and bridge structures. This trust from CFX was not something that was built overnight, this was after many successfully completed projects for our premier client in Florida. This project took a similar approach as the Boggy Creek interchange from several years prior, when given the flexibility to influence design, SEMA chose to utilize the curved concrete U-girders for the bridge superstructure. This provided optimized value and scope to the client.
