These photos are prime examples of intra-district communication/collaboration and our relentless pursuit to be the best partner in the industry. The intra-district communication stems from the marine equipment seen in the photos – our Southeast District collaborated with our Texas District, taking lessons learned from the Lake Ray Hubbard Bridge project along with marine equipment resources. This approach also lends itself to our ability to deliver lasting value to our clients, utilizing company owned resources provided a significant cost savings over renting this specialty marine equipment from a third party. Our pursuit of being the best partner showcased itself through solutions provided to Manatee County and the EOR on the project. This marine bridge was never supposed to be a bridge, it was supposed to be an earthen causeway constructed through this lake. Due to permitting constraints, the earthen causeway would prove to be to timely and costly – so our Southeast Team proposed a bridge through the lake that would not be susceptible to the permitting constraints the causeway was. At the end of the day, the bridge approach also saved the client a considerable amount of funds due to the fact that the lake did not have to be drained.
