Rehabilitation of Alberta Park Damn Spill Way & Infrastructure.
Selling Points
At 11,000’ elevation crews were able to drop water levels by diverting the water to rehab the dam. Rehabbing the dam included removal and replacement of spillway, install new drainage lines and outlet & inlet structures. Extended life of damn 50 years by completion rehab.
Major Achievements
Had to complete within 1 season while water was dropped.
Savings
Saved the owner over $2,000,000 during preconstruction by changing design eliminating hauling clay for a liner and using an alternative geosynthetic clay liner. In addition, during preconstruction SEMA suggested to realign the spillway to eliminate a SNW.
