  • Role and Responsibilities

As District Vice President of the Mid Atlantic, Shashank Johari provides executive leadership across one of SEMA’s fastest-growing regions, guiding major transportation and infrastructure programs from concept through delivery. He reports directly to T. Brett Ames, CEO, Corporate and District President, California, Rocky Mountain, Texas & Mid Atlantic, and is accountable for strategic growth, pursuit execution, and operational excellence while cultivating trusted partnerships with clients and stakeholders.

With more than 12 years of experience in highway, bridge, and civil infrastructure, Shashank has delivered mega projects including the $650M I-35E Phase II Design-Build, the $134M IH-30 Greenville Design-Bid-Build, and the $1B Midtown Express Design-Build. He has extensive expertise in alternative delivery, managing progressive design-build and CMGC contracts that demand innovation, collaboration, and early contractor involvement to achieve successful outcomes. A national leader in this space, he co-authored SEMA’s award-recognized preconstruction services program, which sets benchmarks for transparency, collaboration, and innovation that deliver value for clients and communities. What sets Shashank apart, however, is that he is not only a preconstruction expert who leads the pack, but also a true builder. By combining strategic foresight with hands-on field experience, he bridges the gap between early project development and execution, ensuring client confidence that SEMA’s most complex programs will be delivered with precision, safety, and long-term value.

Currently, Shashank is overseeing nearly $800 million in alternative delivery contracts across the Mid Atlantic, including major programs with the Tennessee DOT and North Carolina DOT, where his structured and transparent leadership builds high-performing teams, strengthens client trust, and develops future leaders.

Through disciplined execution and a passion for advancing collaborative delivery methods, Shashank advances SEMA’s mission of being the best partner in the industry and fulfills its brand promise — SEMA, More to Look Forward To — by shaping nationally recognized preconstruction practices that transform communities.

  • Personal

Shashank is passionate about mentorship and fostering teams where people succeed together. Outside of work, he is dedicated to fitness and wellness, enjoys hands-on home projects, and values time spent outdoors. He finds energy in solving complex problems, both on the job site and in everyday life, and seeks to leave a lasting impact through his work, his relationships, and his community involvement.

  • SEMA Value That Best Describes Shashank

    SMART

“I believe in setting clear goals, holding myself accountable, and creating an environment where teams can thrive. For me, the real measure of success is not just delivering a project, but doing it in a way that builds trust, develops people, and strengthens the communities we serve.”
