As District Vice President, Special Projects Group and National Structures Expert, Mark Mac Donald, P.E., provides executive leadership for some of SEMA Construction's most technically challenging infrastructure projects while serving as the company's foremost authority on bridge and structural engineering. Reporting to Daniel J. Filer, P.E., Chief Development & Delivery Officer, Mark supports SEMA's nationwide Alternative Delivery and Special Projects programs by providing strategic leadership for complex bridge and heavy civil infrastructure projects from procurement through successful execution. Working closely with executive leadership, district leadership, project teams, owners, and design partners, he helps ensure SEMA consistently delivers innovative, safe, efficient, and high-quality solutions on the company's largest and most complex projects.

Mark's civil engineering foundation is rooted in structural works and has been shaped through leadership roles on some of North America's most iconic infrastructure projects, including the $2B San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge in California, the $3.14B Tappan Zee Bridge Replacement in New York, and the $6B (CAD) Gordie Howe International Bridge connecting Detroit, Michigan, and Windsor, Ontario. These landmark projects strengthened his expertise in constructability, structural engineering, collaborative delivery, risk management, and integrating engineering with construction to optimize cost, schedule, quality, and long-term project performance.

As SEMA's National Structures Expert, Mark provides technical guidance, constructability reviews, value engineering, and innovative structural solutions that enhance project delivery across the organization. He champions collaboration, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence while mentoring project teams and advancing best practices throughout SEMA.
