As Vice President, Structures and Engineering, Rocky Mountain District and National Structures Expert, Carson Carney provides leadership across all aspects of SEMA’s Structures Division, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Reporting to Jeff Markle, Vice President, Rocky Mountain District and National Alternate Delivery Expert, he blends technical expertise with strategic planning, optimizing structural design, improving construction efficiency, and integrating cutting-edge technologies into project execution.
Carson also serves as SEMA’s national in-house structures engineering expert, providing technical guidance and structural solutions across the company’s most complex bridge and heavy civil projects. His deep expertise in structural design, constructability, and alternative delivery methods ensures that SEMA remains a leader in innovative and cost-effective bridge and structure solutions.
Beyond operations, Carson is instrumental in risk assessment, stakeholder collaboration, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. He works closely with owners, project managers, and field teams, ensuring that engineering and construction processes are seamlessly integrated for optimal project outcomes.

Carson is a husband and father of twin daughters and a son, along with three beloved dogs. A lifelong outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys bird hunting, hiking, skiing, and foraging for mushrooms.
