Moving and stabilizing millions of cubic yards

Our company began on the ground—in the hard work of moving dirt. While our equipment has evolved, our work ethic has remained constant. Our projects include multiple aspects of grading, structural excavation/backfill, dewatering, surface water diversion, erosion control, and ground improvements. We have also developed and refined our understanding and mastery of soil composition, amendment, and modification techniques to enhance structural integrity. With subgrade strength assured, every road and every project is built on a more reliable and stable platform.

Benefit from our experience

SEMA takes a full-service approach to every project. Our experience in construction planning and management delivers project success through a blend of expediency, accuracy, and cost-conscious planning.

Construction that improves and protects

We provide remediation, reclamation, and containment construction solutions to industrial, mining, commercial, and government clients. Our projects have included the construction of cap and cover containment systems, liner containment systems, collection and treatment systems, waste consolidation and relocation, heavy-metal and asbestos abatement work, and site reclamation of impacted sites.

Ensuring best overall project value

We offer variety of land development services, including overlot and general site grading. Our value engineering approach grows from a commitment to meeting specific client needs. When necessary, we propose plan modifications as a project moves along to save time and money. From the very first meeting with our clients to the final finish grading, our team approaches every task with an acute attention to detail.

The knowledge to build complex things safely and quickly

Bridges, box culverts, and retaining walls are a few of the structures we build. SEMA is known for having built some of the more interesting bridges in the industry. On the I-270 flyover project in Denver, for example, we designed an alternate solution to traditional steel girders: curved, precast-concrete U-girders. Each weighing 240,000-330,000 pounds, this was the first use of this type of girder anywhere in the country.

Using state-of-the-art technology to build more for less

From municipal sewer systems and storm drainages to hydropower generation facilities, any utility project is easily with our range of expertise. Our approach employs proven practices that yield the most efficient and cost-effective solutions possible—all while protecting public health and the environment.
