SEMA is working as a key subcontractor on this project.
The project consists of construction of a 3-cycle concrete labyrinth weir spillway constructed at the existing location at Upper Beaver Brook owned by the Lookout Mountain Water District, located 7.5 miles northwest of Evergreen Colorado. The construction consists of a 116 foot by 92 foot by 2 foot thick concrete slab and 700 lineal feet of 10 foot high walls constructed on the slab. The construction of the Spillway will allow the Water District to raise the level of the reservoir 10 feet which will increase the capacity of the reservoir by 138 acre feet.
The Lookout Mountain Water District – Upper Beaver Brook Dam Spillway Improvement Project started in July, 2016. The blasting and initial earthwork were completed in mid-August, followed by the foundation grouting and rock anchors that were finished in mid-October. This work was followed by the concrete work which consists of the spillway concrete slab work which will be finished by Thanksgiving followed by the spillway concrete walls which should be finished by mid-January weather permitting.
